Outpatient Center 
Modeled after a private practice. Administrative and nursing staff support teams of four or five residents.

Patients
Diverse case mix representing most minorities and socio-economic groups. All ages from adolescence to geriatrics.

Faculty
Resident to faculty ratio of 3-4 to 1.

Continuity Clinic
One afternoon per week (except when on Night Float or vacation). Emphasis placed on preventive medicine, screening and continuity of care.

Ambulatory "Block" Rotations
Emphasis on ambulatory primary care. Rotations at a broad range of specialty clinics, private offices, nursing homes and at home visits.

Conferences
Daily curriculum-based conferences.

Electronic Medical Records
Both outpatient and inpatient medical records are fully computerized as are x-rays and ECGs.

Procedures
Routine offce procedures including arthrocenteses, trigger point injections, pelvic examinations with wet preps are performed in the clinic.

Evaluation and Feedback
Observed clinical examinations, videotaped patient interviews, bedside interactions and chart notes are evaluated by faculty with continuous feedback.

Daily Morning Report
Daily Ambulatory Care Conferences
Monthly Conferences including Geriatrics, EKGs, Morbidity/Mortality, Cardiac Catheterization, Journal Club and Procedure Lab.

Board Review
Monthly in-training examination and review

Evidence Based Medicine
EBM is stressed throughout the curriculum, which covers all major Internal Medicine topics.
