Opportunities for those diagnosed with cancer, their families, friends and caregivers to share experiences, take part in educational programs, and provide mutual support.
Special permit parking is available on the mid-level of the Sherman and Gloria H. Cohen Pavilion for patients with cancer. Ask your oncologist or our radiation therapy staff. FREE.

Healing Touch @ Bendheim Cancer Center
This holistic, energy-based program complements the care of radiation and chemotherapy patients while they receive treatment at the Bendheim Cancer Center. Soothing techniques, performed by trained volunteers, help patients relax to facilitate healing. To request this service, speak with your nurse when you come for treatment. FREE.
Special Event: Look Good, Feel Better 
In this hands-on program for cancer patients, you’ll learn about skin care, makeup, wigs and scarves to help you look good and feel better during this transitional period of your life. Special Event: Aveda Pure Hospital Spa Night and Eyebrow Clinic 
If you're a cancer patient receiving radiation and chemotherapy, this program will help you deal with the loss of your eyebrows. Free eyebrow kits will be available, along with step-by-step instructions. Complimentary pampering, too, with soothing Aveda products from Pure Salon in Greenwich, and Healing Touch services by trained volunteers from Greenwich Hospital’s Center for Integrative Medicine. Knitting for Cancer Patients
Cancer patients and their loved ones are welcome to join this knitting and crocheting group led by Greenwich Hospital radiation oncology staff. Enjoy conversation while working on your own project or on shawls, caps and scarves for cancer patients. Thursdays at 6pm at the Bendheim Cancer Center, 77 Lafayette Place. Pre-Mastectomy Class
This class for breast cancer patients will provide information on surgery, drains and dressings, and offer the opportunity to meet others anticipating similar surgery. Breast Cancer Support Groups
Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer Support Group
For patients newly diagnosed with breast cancer who are seeking information and support. An experienced cancer counselor facilitates this eight-week program on Mondays from 12:30-2pm at the Bendheim Cancer Center. Registration is required. Post-treatment Breast Cancer Support Group
Patients who are in the post-treatment phase of breast cancer can join this group to continue to gain knowledge and support. Our experienced cancer counselor will facilitate sessions on the second and fourth Monday of the month from 6-7:30pm at the Bendheim Cancer Center. Registration is required. Writing Group for Women Living with Cancer
Writing can uncover reserves of energy and creativity we did not know we possess. Our cancer counselor leads this 2-hour weekly group session where you will find safety, support and opportunities for expression through discussions and writing. Mondays, 10:30am-12 Noon. Free Mammogram/Clinical Breast Exam
Free mammograms for eligible women through the Greenwich Hospital Partnership for Breast Health. Available by appointment at the Greenwich Hospital Breast Center, located in the Bendheim Cancer Center, 77 Lafayette Court, across the street from the hospital in the Cohen Pavilion. You may qualify if you are 40 or older, are low-income, and have no health insurance. Supported by the Breast Cancer Alliance in cooperation with Greenwich Hospital and the Greenwich Radiology Group. When a Parent Has Cancer- GH @ GH
An experienced cancer counselor will discuss such topics as explaining your illness to your children, handling their questions and worries, and managing life. Learn how your children can grow from, rather than be hurt by, being part of a family affected by cancer. Books and other resources are available. Cancer Genetics
Greenwich Hospital's Bendheim Cancer Center, in cooperation with Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine, offers a cancer genetics program that enables patients to determine if they carry a cancer gene mutation. Staffed by Danielle Campfield, MS, a genetics counselor from the Yale School of Medicine. To learn more about the service, call (203) 764-8400. Fee.
ENCORE at the YWCA
ENCORE is a YWCA program for women who have had breast cancer surgery. The program consists of group discussions to identify and share common concerns as well as floor and swimming exercises. It is desirable to begin as early as possible after surgery to avoid problems caused by inadequate activity. If you are three weeks or more postoperative and have received your physician's permission, you are welcome to attend. Mondays at 12:30pm. GH @ GH Cancer Counseling
Counseling and stress management techniques can help patients and families cope with cancer and its impact on their lives. Time-limited sessions are available with an experienced psychotherapist who can also provide information on other local resources for support and counseling. Education services include special programs on topics related to living with cancer. The Schupf Library, located on the 2nd floor of the Bendheim Cancer Center in the Cohen Pavilion, has free pamphlets about various cancers and their treatments, and a computer that may be used for internet access to cancer information sites. - Payment must be made by check or credit card at least one business day prior to the date a class begins. Instructors cannot transact payments or registrations.
- Only prepaid and pre-registered students may attend class. This applies to both new and continuing students.
