GREENWICH HOSPITAL’S BREAST CENTER RECEIVES THREE-YEAR ACCREDITATION FROM
AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS

Greenwich Hospital’s Breast Center at 77 Lafayette Place has received a three-year/full accreditation designation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

NAPBC accredits centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of their performance.

Nearly three hundred women were either newly diagnosed or were referred to the Center last year for surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy notes Barbara Ward, MD, medical director of the Breast Center. The Hospital facility combines the latest technology and a team of top breast specialists into one location with easy access to the complete spectrum of clinical and support services. These range from screenings and diagnosis, to treatment, counseling and education for breast cancer patients.

NAPBC accreditation ensures that a breast cancer patient will have access to:

  • Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
  • A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
  • And, most importantly, breast care close to home
