Most people take sleep for granted, but up to 10 million middle-aged Americans are suspected of having sleep apnea, an all-consuming problem that affects health, family and job performance. Approximately four percent of men and two percent of women meet the minimum criteria for sleep apnea, yet less than one-half of one percent knows it.

Sleep disorders do not only affect adults. As many as one out of three elementary school children may suffer from sleep problems at some time in their lives. Many go undiagnosed.

People who experience more than an occasional sleepless night know that lack of sleep is a serious problem and requires specialized attention. The Sleep Laboratory at Greenwich Hospital, nationally accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, provides help to those suffering from sleep problems.
