Patient Care Services Return to Work Center Conditioning is accelerated toward a specific job function on a physical level to regain the strength and capacity to do certain tasks, and a psychological level to restore confidence. Fitness for Duty Assessment screens an injured worker (or an employee on medical leave) prior to resuming full duty work. These one-hour sessions also help to evaluate employees in a current position when they have a change in health. Work Hardening is a highly structured individualized treatment incorporating real or simulated work situations. The goal is to restore physical, behavioral, functional and vocational skills. The employee is seen daily for several hours each day. Work Conditioning incorporates work tasks while stressing aerobic capacity, strength and injury prevention education. The employee may be out of work, or working modified duty, because of an injury, and needs to return to full duty. The Return to Work Center offers case management for complicated Workers' Compensation cases, ensuring communication among patient, physician and employer. To make an appointment at the Return to Work Center, call (203) 863-3400. |
