Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Most babies are born healthy and full-term. But for those that need extra care, Greenwich Hospital is ready with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for sick or premature newborn babies. This unit is located next to the Maternity unit. Babies are monitored 24 hours a day by two full-time and two part-time neonatologists, specially trained neonatal nurses and neonatal nurse practitioners. The unit contains the most sophisticated and up-to-date equipment to treat babies with special needs. Skylights atop the unit provide natural light for babies and their families.

If you would like more information about the NICU, please call (203) 863-3515 to speak with Dr. Stylianos Theofanidis, director of neonatology.
