The Infection Control & Prevention Program

Who We Are
The Infection Control Program was established to identify, prevent and to control infections that may be acquired in the hospital. The primary goal of the Infection Control & Prevention Program is patient safety. The Infection Control and Prevention Program also provide training and education to staff, visitors and patient on disease prevention.

The Director of the Infection Control and Prevention Program is the Chairman of the multidisciplinary Infection Control Committee. This committee is comprised of the Infection Control team and representatives from key clinical and non-clinical departments such as Medicine, Radiology, Nursing, Administration and Food Services. The purpose of the committee is to provide guidance to health care workers and to undertake action to prevent infections and to promote patient safety.

Staff
The Infection Control and Prevention staff has over 20 years of experience in infections and communicable disease prevention and are certified in Infection Control.

Hours of Operation
The hours of operation are Monday Through Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm. After hours, in case of an emergency, the Infection Control Prevention staff may be reached through the hospital operator.
