About The Library
Location and Hours
The Library is located on the first floor of the Watson Pavilion, across from Noble Auditorium. Hours of operation - Monday to Friday: 8:00 to 4:30. After hours access is available with hospital badge. The Library is open to the general public Monday to Friday: 9:00 to 4:00.
Eligible Users
All Library services are available free of charge to all hospital staff. Turnaround time varies depending on service. Patient care emergencies are handled immediately. There is a phone and fax available for staff use. The Library is open to the public
from 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Appointments are preferred. A small consumer health collection is available for reference.
The Collection
The Library's collection includes books and journals covering all medical specialties, as well as nursing and administration. The book collection contains over 1500volumes. The collection is cataloged according to the National Library of Medicine Classification System. Books may be borrowed by hospital staff only. A small consumer health collection is available for reference only. The Library subscribes to 225 journals, which are kept for 5 years, plus the current year. Journals may not be borrowed.
Mission Statement
The Richard and Jonathan Sackler Medical Library's mission is to improve the medical care and research at Greenwich Hospital through the provision of resources and information, which supports patient care, clinical research, and education.
