The Families for Greenwich Hospital Advisory Board
The FFGH Advisory Board is comprised of a dynamic group of volunteer parents, as well as representatives from local health agencies, community organizations and schools. The Board works collaboratively with the hospital to provide the best medical care to children in our community. Thousands of children and families have been touched by the dedicated efforts of FFGH volunteers. Through our work, we have:
- Raised more than $2.5 million for pediatric facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.
- Supported efforts to increase the pediatric staff to include more pediatricians, specialized nurse practitioners and perinatologists to manage high-risk pregnancies.
- Increased community awareness of pediatric health issues such as Lyme disease, food allergies, juvenile diabetes, and childhood development and behavior.
- Purchased a DCA 2000 machine for juvenile diabetes patients that shows results within minutes with a single finger prick.
- Purchased Giraffe warmers/incubators for critical NICU babies, to minimize handling.
- Purchased “Comfort Kits” designed to entertain and calm children undergoing medical treatment.
- Produced a video to orient children and parents to hospital and surgical procedures in a kid-friendly manner.
- Provided informative seminars for parents focusing on children’s health and development.
