Benefits

Greenwich Hospital offers an outstanding salary and benefits package.

Flexible Benefits

A comprehensive flexible benefits package is offered to all full-time, part-time, and per diem employees and those part-time employees who are scheduled to work 15 or more hours biweekly. Benefits begin the first day of the month after employee has worked 45 days. Many benefits are purchased with pre-tax dollars, reducing employee income tax costs.

Medical: Employees choose from two comprehensive plans that provide both in-network and out-of-network coverage. No referrals needed for doctors or specialists. Employees who show proof of other coverage can waive coverage and receive cash back.

Dental: Choose from either Plus or Basic dental plan coverage. Preventive care and diagnostic services are provided in both plans, while the Plus Plan also includes major and orthodontic services.

Prescription drug coverage: Employees and dependents covered under either medical plan are covered by the prescription drug program. Employees can choose to purchase prescriptions from participating pharmacies for through mail order (up to a 90-day supply) at a reduced cost.

Additional Insurance

The following may be purchased on a pre-tax basis

Disability: Eligible employees can purchase short-term insurance. This provides 60 percent of salary for up to six months after a 14-day wait. Long-term disability insurance is provided at no cost to full-time employees after one year of full-time employment and provides 60 percent of salary after six months of disability.

Life Insurance: The hospital completely funds life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for full-time and part-time employees on the first of the month following 45 days of employment. The benefit is equal to the full-time employee's annual salary or $2,000 for part-time employees. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employees on a post-tax basis for themselves, their spouse or children.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Tax-free dollars may be set aside to pay for qualifying health expenses or dependent day care expenses. Under IRS regulation, any unused funds are forfeited at year's end.

Health Care Spending Account: Up to $5,000 each year may be set aside tax-free to pay for qualified health-related expenses, including co-pays and deductibles.

Dependent Care Spending Account: Up to $5,000 each year may be set aside tax-free to pay for child day care and other qualifying dependent day care expenses.

Paid Time Off

Full-time and part-time employees who work 30 or more hours biweekly are eligible to access paid time off (PTO). PTO accrual varies depending on position and length of experience. There are six hospital-designated holidays per year. PTO includes time off for vacation, sick time and holiday time.
