Personal Guidance
Most pediatric visits to Greenwich Hospital are for ambulatory, or same-day, procedures. Even so, a trip to the hospital can be overwhelming, especially for children. Nurses and physicians provide emotional support and individualized attention to all pediatric patients and their families. The staff organizes admission procedures, makes discharge arrangements and helps families understand their insurance benefits. If necessary, social workers are available to discuss family concerns and connect to the resources they need.  Learn more about pediatric surgery >>

Preoperative Tours
If your child is having surgery, knowing what to expect can help ease the experience. An important way to prepare is to schedule a Preoperative Pediatric Tour before admission. Getting to know the hospital staff, procedures and environment can help to make parents more comfortable and calm a child's fears. To arrange a tour, call the Greenwich Hospital Volunteer Department at 203-863-3222. You may also want to watch the pediatric pre-op tour video with your child.
