History

Nursing School Starts
The Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing was started by Dr. Harriet Baker Hyde to provide student nurses for the hospital. Hiring graduates was an expense that the hospital could not afford at the time. The first graduating class of the Nursing School, two in number, received their diplomas on May 1, 1909.
