Awards
For a small hospital, Greenwich Hospital has received much recognition for excellence in patient care, technological innovations, medical advancements and community involvement.
Some recent achievements include:
- Accreditation with Commendation from The Joint Commission, the national accrediting organization for hospitals. This achievement places Greenwich Hospital in the top 15 percent of all hospitals in the United States reviewed by The Joint Commission.
- Designation as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
- Gold Innovation Prize for continuous quality improvement efforts in the area of anticoagulant use in patients with atrial fibrillation, awarded by the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership.
- The Press, Ganey Compass Award, awarded annually to an organization that has made significant strides in service excellence as reflected on the Press, Ganey patient satisfaction surveys.
- A "Most Wired" designation by Hospital and Health Care Network magazine and Deloitte Consulting, for being "ahead of the curve" in using technology to serve its constituents, including patients, doctors, nurses, employees, suppliers, and insurers
- Accreditation by the College of American Pathology for being in full compliance with CAP's rigorous standards for diagnostic and treatment equipment, including mammography, MRI, radiation therapy and lab.
- In addition to these achievements, Greenwich Hospital meets all local, state and federal ordinances and requirements and is fully licensed as an acute care hospital.
