- Accreditation from The Joint Commission, the national accrediting organization for hospitals. The Commission also reaccredited the hospital’s Home Hospice Program.
- Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission for offering an interdisciplinary team trained in the latest life-saving protocols.
- The Outstanding Achievement Award for excellence in patient care from the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer, presented to the Bendheim Cancer Center.
- Gold Innovation Prize for continuous quality improvement efforts in the area of anticoagulant use in patients with atrial fibrillation, awarded by the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership.
- "Stage 6" status from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, which recognizes hospitals that have a fully integrated electronic medical record to improve patient safety and quality of care. Greenwich Hospital is the first in Connecticut, and among only 36 hospitals in the nation, to achieve Stage 6.
- The Press Ganey Summit Award, the top national prize for patient satisfaction.
- A "Most Wired" and “Most Wireless” designation by Hospital and Health Care Networks magazine.
- Accreditation by the College of American Pathology for being in full compliance with its rigorous standards for diagnostic and treatment equipment, including mammography, MRI, radiation therapy and lab.
- Recipient of top scores – surpassing national and state scores in all 10 areas – of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services patient satisfaction surveys.
- Recognition by the American Society of Healthcare Engineering as one of a dozen hospitals nationwide to cut energy consumption by at least 10 percent a year. The hospital exceeded the target with nearly 20 percent.
- Greenwich Hospital was prominently featured in Masterpieces in Health Care Leadership: Cases and Analysis for Best Practice, a textbook for healthcare professionals. (Jones and Barlett, 2007).
- The hospital adopted the nationally recognized Schwartz Rounds, an interdisciplinary forum to discuss emotional and social issues caregivers face.
- Greenwich Hospital meets all local, state and federal ordinances and requirements and is fully licensed as an acute care hospital.
- Recognition by the American Diabetes Association for diabetes self-management education programs at two Greenwich Hospital sites: Greenwich Hospital and Greenwich Hospital Healthy Living Center. This national recognition status reflects the best practice standards of care for people with diabetes.
