Shed Your Meds
Chances are you have some expired or no-longer-used medications cluttering up your medicine cabinet. Now you can reclaim that shelf space and dispose of those pills and syrups safely on Medication Turn-In Day. All medications will be accepted, from over-the-counter pain relievers, vitamins and pet prescriptions, to opiate narcotics.

Your action benefits others
Concern is growing over medications contaminating drinking water supplies. By turning in unwanted drugs instead of flushing or pouring them down the drain, you’ll be part of the solution. Parents should always know what’s in the medicine cabinet and safely discard anything that is not needed, especially with the rise of prescription drug abuse by teens. Commonly abused drugs include Vicodin (hydrocodone and acetaminophen),amphetamines, sedatives, tranquilizers, cough medicines, OxyContin (oxycodone), and Ritalin (methylphenidate). Medication Turn-In Day is a collaborative effort sponsored by Greenwich Hospital, the Town of Greenwich, Greenwich Police Department, and the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. It is also supported by Silver Shield of Greenwich, Greenwich Youth Services Council, CAPP and the Community Health Improvement Partnership.
